Role Overview

As a Senior Environmental Engineering Analyst, you will be responsible to ensure full compliance & due diligence for the Environmental Management System (EMS) at TMMC with a focus on compliance, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) performance, Environmental Risk, developing opportunities to achieve Toyota’s Challenge 2050 and community outreach. Your clear communication skills and a team-first mentality will allow you to work effectively with various TMMC team members on a variety of tasks and projects.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Mentor engineering principles for all of the following responsibilities:
  • Environmental Technical Expertise for all applicable legal, technical, corporate and due diligent standards, regulations, codes & requirements.
  • Functional Management (Safety, Environmental, Quality, Cost)
  • Project Management with high risk (building expansions, Regulatory change, ISO 14001, Minor Model, Capex, Shutdown)
  • Applies the following independently:
  • Breakdown report (5 Why, Root cause analysis)
  • Toyota Attitudes
  • Apply, train & mentor the following independently:
  • Toyota Business Practices (TBP)
  • Anticipates problems and develops strategies over a long term (5 years)
  • Leads Co-op students & analysts
  •  Lead cross departmental activities
  • Leads Challenge 2050 activities
  • Prepare monthly reports for KPIs (VOC emissions, Energy, Water, Waste), identify abnormalities, support troubleshooting and implementation of countermeasures
  • Conduct monthly meetings with shop managers to gain feedback on the shop status to their Environmental KPIs and activities.
  • Review new projects and share best practices for potential environmental impacts with a focus on compliance, KPI performance, and environmental risk
  • Lead Environmental System improvement projects for shops
  • Lead capital investment projects in your assigned area and support all aspects of execution
  • Audit construction areas
  • Coordinate contractor support for project activities
  • Support negotiations with regulatory agencies for TMMC requirements

 

Desired Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Applied Science in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical or Civil) is required
  • Must meet the educational and character requirements for P.Eng. license eligibility
  • Manufacturing Experience (5+ years practical experience)
  • Environmental Science education or background is an asset
  • An independent worker with strong organizational skills and is self-motivated
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and multiple projects appropriately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective presentation skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Powerpoint, Access)
  • Proven hands on problem solving in cross functional teams
  • Willing to support daily and weekend overtime requirements as needed
  • Must be able to travel within North America as well as Overseas (less than 5% per year)
  • Must be flexible to work in Cambridge and/or Woodstock plant locations
  • Must have a valid G2 drivers license at a minimum
