Role Overview

An exciting job opportunity for you to develop your Human Resources career by demonstrating your strong knowledge in Employee and Labour Relations. As a Company, we recognize that it is important to establish trust, build relationships and assess situations to offer guidance and advice to our Team Members.  This role is the first point of contact for many of our Team Members.  The HR Service Desk Team Member assists Team Members with their inquiry or concern regarding any Human Resources Services.  When needed, the HR Service Desk Team Member refers the Team Member to the appropriate person within Human Resources to get the information and assistance that they need.


Previous work experience working in a manufacturing environment gives you the advantage to be considered for this role. Showing your ability to work independently and in a Team environment will prove that you can “Lead by Example”.


Position Summary

  • Answers all incoming calls and emails for Human Resources and responds or delegates inquiry to the appropriate department.
  • Manage service awards for 5, 10 and 20 year anniversaries and retirement gifts
  • Manage all Pregnancy and Parental Leave requests as well as assisting with the adjudication of other leaves covered under the Employment Standards Act (ESA). 
  • Requisition creation, vendor account management, and asset management
  • Assist Team Members with systems and processes including online pay access, benefits claim submission, paperwork associated with leaves, and perform the initial intake for concerns.


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of TMMC and Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning experience advantageous.
  • Knowledge of applicable employment legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-initiative – ability to work independently.
  • Strong Computer skills (e.g., SAP, Service Now, Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access).
  • Post-Secondary education in Business, Human Resources or other related program.
  • CHRP or working towards CHRP an asset
